Welcome to The Refuge Teen page of Faithway Baptist Church. We are glad you took a look into our Teen Ministries!
Our goal is to reach teens for Christ! Today there are many influences upon a teens life. Whether it be music, media, or the masses, our teens live a life full of distractions. Todays teens are pulled many ways, but, one of the biggest pulls is simply to be ordinary. Culture says to just " fit in". As a Christian we are told that there is a purpose greater than ourselves.
Epic is a word that we thought would be great to describe what we desire for our teen group. Epic is a word that is very popular in our culture and time. But, the word itself means "surpassing the ordinary". We as Christians are to desire to surpass the ordinary. What our teens are learning is that when God gives them salvation, they are given a Holy calling, which was given in Christ before the world began (2 Timothy 1:9). Thus, there is a purpose for their life that has been planned out by God for longer than they have been alive. Thats pretty epic!
We don't have to fit in a mold! There is an extraordinary purpose given by God that we can live in each day. God's will is found by living each day according to his Word and seeking his approval and his alone. We are striving that our teens may develop an epic relationship with God and find joy, peace, and purpose in their lives.
